DETERMINATION OF HEPARIN IN THE BLOOD ABSTRACT Heparin in the blood is determined over a wide range of concentrations by measuring the clotting time of serum derived from a test specimen of blood when combined under standard conditions with thrombin and plasma solutions. The clotting time is then determined from an experimentally- established functional relationship between clotting time and heparin concentration.
