A technique is described for determining configuration options negotiated for a wireless communications link employing a network model. The technique receives an input data stream from a wireless communications link employing a network model, the network model operating, e.g. to isolate an PPP-Rm link from an PPP-Km link. The input data stream includes one or more framed data packets containing information. The wireless communications link employing the network model is based on configuration options negotiated. The framed data packet(s) from the input data stream are detected and at least a portion of the information of the detected framed data packet(s) is examined when the configuration options of the wireless communications link employing the network model have been negotiated. In an embodiment, the IPCP configuration options like e.g. IP-address, Van Jacobson compression and Van Jacobson compression slot ID are determined by examining a portion of information of a predetermined number of framed data packets when the configuration options have been negociated.
L'invention concerne une technique permettant de déterminer des options de configuration négociées pour une liaison de communications sans fil mettant en oeuvre un modèle de réseau. La technique consiste à recevoir un flux de données d'entrée destiné à une liaison de communications sans fil mettant en oeuvre un modèle de réseau, celui-ci permettant, par exemple, d'isoler une liaison PPP-Rm d'une liaison PPP-Km. Le flux de données d'entrée comprend un ou plusieurs paquets de données tramés renfermant des informations. La liaison de communications sans fil mettant en oeuvre le modèle de réseau est fondée sur des options de configuration négociées. Les paquets de données tramés provenant du flux de données d'entrée sont détectés et au moins une partie des informations desdits paquets est examinée quand les options de configuration de ladite liaison ont été négociées. Dans un mode de réalisation, les options de configuration IPCP, telles qu'une adresse IP, une compression de Van Jacobson et une identification d'intervalle de compression de Van Jacobson, sont déterminées par examen d'une partie des informations d'un nombre prédéterminé de paquets de données tramés quand les options de configuration ont été négociées.
