A developing device includes a movable toner carrier having its surface deposited with a toner and toner restricting member arranged parallel to the toner carrier. The toner restricting member comprises a retaining rod made of an elastic material and a contact unit provided on the outer periphery of the retaining rod, extending in an axial direction of the retaining rod and having at least one contact area set in contact with the surface of the toner carrier.

Dispositif de développement comportant un porte-toner sur la surface duquel est déposé un toner ainsi qu'un élément de limitation du toner parallèle au porte-toner. L'élément de limitation du toner comporte une tige de retenue constituée d'un matériau élastique et une unité de contact placée sur le pourtour extérieur de la tige de retenue, cette unité de contact se prolongeant suivant l'axe de la tige de retenue et présentant au moins une zone de contact avec la surface du porte-toner.
