DEVIATION HOLE PLUG ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Prior art devices all include central apertures formed in the flat central portions with flexible fingers radiating from the centre portion. The wings or fingers are not strong enough to maintain the plug in position against the force of seismic explosions, the force of which is absorbed by the flat base and the apertures often give way when the plug is forced down the hole by the conven- tionally used pole. Furthermore, when back filling the plugs, soil and the like often sifts down through the hole. The present device includes ribbed wings for strength and a cone-shaped solid base to facilitate positioning and to absorb and deflect explosive forces.
