The present invention provides a dunnage bar for use as packing between packages during the transport thereof, which dunnage bar comprises a plurality of plies of a webbing material secured together to form a multi-ply length of material. Preferably, the dunnage bar is made from the residues of the webbing material recovered from worn or discarded load lifting slings.
