The invention relates to a device for a laser blocked-mode, especially for a pulsed laser, comprising a cavity resonator (20) which is defined by a first mirror (1) and a second mirror (8), and fitted with an amplifying active laser medium (5) for the amplification of a beam of laser radiation of a fundamental frequency (.omega.1) and a solid, non-linear optic means (10) comprising at least said second mirror (8) for reversible conversion of the radiation of the fundamental frequency (.omega.1) into radiation of a harmonic frequency (.omega.2), whereby said non-linear optic means (10) has a reflection factor which increases with the intensity of the radiation of a fundamental frequency. The invention is characterized in that said device also comprises a solid intensity limiter (4) in the cavity resonator (20), whereby the transmission factor of the laser radiation decreases with the intensity of said radiation. The invention also relates to a method for a laser blocked-mode, especially for a pulsed laser, using said device.

La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif pour le mode-blocage d'un laser, en particulier un laser de type pulsé, comprenant une cavité résonnante (20): délimitée par un premier miroir (1) et un second miroir (8); munie d'un milieu laser actif amplificateur (5) pour l'amplification d'un faisceau de rayonnement laser à la fréquence fondamentale (.omega.1); et d'un moyen optique non-linéaire solide (10), qui comprend au moins ledit second miroir (8), pour la conversion réversible du rayonnement de fréquence fondamentale (.omega.1) en rayonnement de fréquence harmonique (.omega.2), ledit moyen optique non-linéaire (10) présentant un coefficient de réflexion qui augmente avec l'intensité du rayonnement à la fréquence fondamentale,caractérisé en ce que ledit dispositif comprend en outre dans la cavité résonnante (20) un limiteur d'intensité (4) solide dont le coefficient de transmission du rayonnement laser diminue avec l'intensité dudit rayonnement. La présente invention se rapporte également à un procédé pour le mode-blocage d'un laser, en particulier un laser de type pulsé, utilisant un tel dispositif.
