This invention is a device for assisting in anastomosis for tubular structures. The basic device (10) has a generally cylindrical shape with a pair of insertion arms (12), and at least one depression (14) that provides a space for the needle to move through within the tubular structures while simultaneously providing support so that the suture needle thrust does not collapse the tubular structure wall. The depressions (14) may be configured to guide the path of the needle. A bridge (16) connects the arms. The device aids in preventing the needle from inadvertently coming in contact with the wall opposite that of the wall being sutured by physically blocking the needle and/or by providing visibility to the user. The method includes an initial suture to join the structures, inserting the device into the openings of the two structures, placing sutures in the walls adjacent to the depression (14), optionally rotating the device so a depression is aligned with each suture as it is being placed, removing the device, and tightening the sutures to complete the anastomosis.
Cette invention porte sur un dispositif destiné à faciliter l'anastomose de structures tubulaires. Le dispositif (10) de base a une forme généralement cylindrique et est pourvu d'une paire de bras (12) d'insertion, et comporte au moins un creux (14) formant un espace pour le passage de l'aiguille dans les structures tubulaires et sert en même temps de support à l'aiguille, de sorte que celle-ci, lors de sa poussée, ne replie pas la paroi de la structure tubulaire. Les creux (14) peuvent être conçus de façon à guider l'aiguille dans sa trajectoire. Un pont (16) relie les bras. Le dispositif empêche l'aiguille de venir en contact accidentellement avec la paroi opposée à celle qui est en train d'être cousue en bloquant l'aiguille et/ou en assurant la visibilité à l'utilisateur. Le procédé comprend un fil de suture initial pour réunir les sutures et consiste à insérer le dispositif dans les ouvertures des deux structures, placer les sutures dans les parois adjacentes au creux (14), faire tourner éventuellement le dispositif de façon à aligner un creux sur chaque nouvelle suture, retirer le dispositif et resserrer les sutures pour achever l'anastomose.
