ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for assisting addiction treatment is provided in which sound stimulation is first applied to the auricle, this being followed by electrical stimulation of the auricular acupuncture points. An earphone is adapted to be placed in the external auditory canal of the auricle of a user. The earphone has an electrode which contacts the surface of the auricle. A clip is adapted to be attached to the rim of the auricle and has an electrode which contacts the rim. A sound generating circuit delivers low voltage signals of low frequency to a buzzer which makes sounds of ultra-low frequency. An acupuncture point stimulating circuit delivers a high voltage stimulus of low current to the electrodes.
