A method and device for automatic or semi-automatic collection of saliva has a mouthpiece (100) on a wand (300). The wand is connected to an interface section (150) via a flexible conduit (200). Saliva is transported by aspiration into a collection chamber (700) where bulk air is removed. For collection of volatile components, air flow, vacuum, conduit diameter and length, and collection times are controlled and limited, to reduce loss of volatile components. The saliva sample volume is automatically detected. Aspiration is automatically stopped when an adequate sample volume is detected.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de prélèvement automatique ou semi-automatique de salive, le dispositif de cette invention comprenant un embout buccal (100) placé sur un tube (300). Ce tube est lui-même raccordé à une partie interface (150) par l'intermédiaire d'un conduit flexible (200), de sorte que la salive est dirigée par aspiration vers une chambre de prélèvement (700) à l'intérieur de laquelle le volume d'air est éliminé. Afin de prélever des constituants volatils, on régule et on limite le flux d'air, le vide, le diamètre et la longueur du conduit, et la durée de prélèvement, de sorte qu'on réduit du même coup les pertes de constituants volatils. Le volume de l'échantillon de salive est par ailleurs automatiquement détecté, et l'aspiration automatiquement interrompue une fois un volume adéquat détecté.
