Method and device for checking patterns (1) disposed on a material strip (30) which patterns (1) consist of groups of dark and light areas (2,2* ,3,3*) succeeding in the travelling direction (v) of the material strip (30) and the checking respectively, by displacing the position of the dark areas (2,3) and/or the light areas (2*,3*) of one group with respect to a related detector (8,9) in regard to the dark areas (2,3) and/or light areas (2*,3*) of another group with respect to another related detector (8,9) by detecting the existence or non-existence of dark areas and/or light areas and by creating a sequence of output signals dependent on the result of the detection by combining the output signals comprising information concerning said dark or light areas (2,2*,3,3*) of each detector (8, 9) with the output signals depending on the detection of one of said dark or light areas (2,2*,3,3*) of the other detector (8,9) in a predetermined way by for example alternately activating each detector (8, 9) by the other detector (8, 9) and by comparing this sequence of output signals with a predetermined sequence of signals.
L'invention est constituée par une méthode et un dispositif de vérification de configurations (1) construites sur une bande de matériau (30). Ces configurations (1) sont constituées de groupes de zones sombres et claires (2,2*, 3,3*) qui se succèdent dans le sens de déplacement (v) de la bande de matériau (30). La vérification se fait en déplaçant les zones sombres (2,3) et/ou les zones claires (2*, 3*) d'un groupe par rapport à un détecteur connexe (8,9) relativement aux zones sombres (2,3) et/ou aux zones claires (2*, 3*) d'un autre groupe par rapport à un autre détecteur connexe (8,9) en détectant l'existence ou la non-existence de zones sombres et/ou de zones claires et en produisant une suite de signaux qui dépendent du résultat de la détection en combinant les signaux de sortie qui contiennent des informations sur lesdites zones sombres ou claires (2,2*, 3,3*) de chaque détecteur (8,9) avec des signaux de sortie dépendant de la détection de l'une des zones sombres ou claires (2,2*, 3,3*) de l'autre détecteur (8,9) d'une manière prédéterminée, par exemple en activant alternativement chaque détecteur (8,9) par l'autre (8,9) et en comparant cette suite de signaux de sortie avec une suite de signaux prédéterminée.
