This invention provides a novel device and method for preparing cytology slides. The device comprises a book-like form including an absorbent material (20) and filter (22) attached to the inside surface of a front cover (12) and a cytology slide (40) removeably attached to an inside surface of a back cover (16). A sample is removed from the body of a patient, placed in a liquid-based solution, and then on the filter. When the book-like form is closed, the sample is effectively transferred to the slide. The device can be modified so that a plurality of slides are prepared at the same time.
L'invention concerne un nouvel appareil et un nouveau procédé permettant de préparer des lames de cytologie. L'appareil comprend un dispositif en forme de livre comportant un matériau absorbant (20) et un filtre (22) fixé à la surface interne d'un couvercle frontal (12) et une lame de cytologie (40) attachée de manière amovible à une surface interne du couvercle postérieur (16). On prélève un échantillon du corps d'un patient, puis on le place dans une solution à base de liquide et ensuite sur le filtre. Lorsque le dispositif en forme de livre est fermé, l'échantillon est efficacement transféré sur la lame. L'appareil peut être modifié de manière à ce que plusieurs lames soient préparées simultanément.
