A digital signal processing device and method for vestigial sideband (VSB) modulation of a digital signal. A binary digital signal di is provided to a baseband shaping filter which samples the signal to provide a baseband signal which has real and imaginary portions Re(Sbb(kT)) and Im(Sbb(kT)), where (see fig. I) The VSB signal is provided with perfect sideband suppression without using analog filters.

Un signal numérique binaire di est transmis à un filtre de structuration de bande de base qui échantillonne le signal reçu pour produire un signal de bande de base à parties réelle et imaginaire Re(Sbb(kT)) et Im(Sbb(kT)), où ... (voir figure 1). La bande latérale du signal peut être supprimée parfaitement sans l'utilisation de filtres analogiques.
