Devices and methods for dissociating feed material occurring in mixed form are disclosed. In a device embodiment, a rotor/stator system is arranged within a housing (1), the rotor (21) of which is equipped around its circumference with processing tools (24) which are radially opposed by stator tools (26) that are arranged stationary relative to the housing (1) while maintaining a working gap (35). A first circumferential section (41) is used for supply of the feed material and the processing of the feed material takes place along a second circumferential section (42). The second circumferential section (42) is divided in the direction of rotation (23) of the rotor (21) into a first subsection (43) and at least one additional second subsection (44). A stator tool (26, 26') followed by a processing path is located at the start of each subsection (43, 44) with respect to the direction of rotation (23) of the rotor (21).
