It comprises a method and device having a modifier (102) for modifying the input value, an error generator (104) for determining an error value, first (106) and second (108) function generators for generating first and second function values, the first and second function values typically being trigonometric function values and typically being obtained from a memory device, a correction evaluator (110) for determining at least one correction value utilizing a predetermined number of terms of at least one power series, and a combiner (112) for combining the at least one correction value with the first and second function values to determine the output trigonometric function value.
