A ROM lookup table with a set of data for a PN sequence of a power-of-two length is addressed by a combination of an integrated value by a self-running N-bit binary counter and a latched offset, to be employed for an offset control of an output PN sequence to be effected by directly obtaining a desired value from the latched offset value, without the need of a mask computation, permitting an increased speed of operation and a reduced scale of circuitry.
