The device is formed of a metallic container which is capable of containing powders of one or more compounds having the general formula Ti x Zr y Hg z, but is not hermetically sealed, in order to allow the discharge of mercury vapors generated by the decomposition of such compounds. Some possible device geometries are disclosed, as well as some possible arrangements of the same inside lamps. Finally a method is disclosed for introducing mercury into a lamp by means of a device of the invention, without the device remaining in the resulting lamp.
Le dispositif faisant l'objet de cette invention est formé d'un récipient métallique qui est apte à contenir des poudres d'un ou de plusieurs composés ayant la formule générale TixZryHgz, mais qui n'est pas scellé hermétiquement, pour permettre la décharge des vapeurs de mercure générées par la décomposition de ces composés. Cette invention présente certaines géométries possibles pour un tel dispositif ainsi que certains agencements possibles dudit dispositif à l'intérieur de lampes. Cette invention présente enfin un procédé permettant d'introduire du mercure dans une lampe au moyen du dispositif de cette invention, sans que ledit dispositif reste dans la lampe ainsi créée.
