A device (10) for stripping a cable having a body (12) with a channel (14) extending therethrough so as to open at a narrow end (16) of the body so as to have a blade with a cutting edge (18) extending upwardly into the channel. The blade extends at an angle of between 70 degrees and 89 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis. The body includes a handle (13) and a cutting head (15) affixed to the end of the handle. The channel (14) extends through the handle and the cutting head. The handle is compressable so as to reduce the diameter of the channel upon the application of a squeezing force onto the handle. The handle has projections (37) extending into the channel. The cutting head has a notch (49) extending along an outer surface of the cutting head. The knife is received within the notch. The knife is formed of a stamped metal material.
L'invention concerne un dispositif pour dénuder un cable. Ce dispositif comporte un corps (12) traversé d'un canal (14) qui s'ouvre à une extrémité étroite du corps de façon à permettre à une lame à arête coupante (18) de remonter dans le canal. La lame forme sur l'axe longitudinal un angle de 70 à 89 degrés. Le corps comporte un manche (13) et une tête coupante (15) fixée à l'extrémité de ce manche. Le canal (14) traverse le manche et la tête coupante. Le manche est compressible de façon à réduire le diamètre du canal lorsqu'on comprime le manche. Ce dernier a des protubérances (37) à l'intérieur du canal. La tête coupante présente une encoche (49) le long d'une surface extérieure. Le couteau, qui s'insère dans l'encoche, est formé d'un matériau métallique embouti.
