The present invention relates to a device (1) and a method for the preparation of data (21) to be sent as a continuous stream via a communication network. The device comprises means for obtainment (11) of the data originating from a database (2), which contains at least two data stream entities (Ej) for data associated respectively with different transmission throughputs (24), means of transfer (12) of these data to a sending system (3), means of connection (13) to one of these entities, and means of switching (14) of the means of connection from one of the entities to another. The preparation device also comprises means of regular addition (15) to the data transferred, of error correction codes (22). The means of switching switch from a first entity to a second entity of greater throughput, when this augmented data stream (DATA) reaches the sum of the sending throughput associated with the second entity and of an additional throughput (possibly zero) associated with an initial input of error correction codes of the second entity, and the means of addition reinitialize the addition of the codes to this initial input upon this switching. Application to streaming over IP network.
L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) et un procédé de préparation de données (21) à envoyer sous la forme d'un flux continu, par le biais d'un réseau de communication. Le dispositif comprend des moyens permettant d'obtenir (11) des données provenant d'une base de données (2), renfermant au moins deux entités de flux de données (Ej) pour des données associées respectivement à divers débits de transmission (24), des moyens de transfert (12) de ces données à un système d'envoi (3), des moyens de connexion (13) à une de ces entités et des moyens de commutation (14) des moyens de connexion d'une entité à une autre. Le dispositif de préparation comprend également des moyens d'addition ordinaire (15), aux données transférées, des codes de correction d'erreur (22). Les moyens de commutation commutent d'une première entité à une seconde entité de débit supérieur, quand ce flux de données augmenté (DATA) atteint la somme du débit d'envoi associé à la seconde entité et d'un débit supplémentaire (éventuellement zéro) associé à une entrée initiale des codes de correction d'erreur de la seconde entité et les moyens d'addition réinitialisent l'addition des codes dans cette entrée initiale au moment de la commutation. Le dispositif selon l'invention peut être mis en oeuvre dans un mode continu sur un réseau IP.
