A pet watering device is for automatically providing water to a pet, such as a dog, from a source of water under pressure. The pet watering device includes a water supply conduit having a first end which is operably connected to a faucet and a second end which is disposed remote from the faucet to allow a discharge of the water therefrom. A valve is in the water supply conduit for being opened to allow the water to flow though the water supply conduit and closed to prevent the flow of the water therethrough. The water supply conduit includes a mounting element for mounting the second end at a selected position for allowing the pet to drink the water therefrom. A sensor is for sensing the presence of the pet near the second end of the water supply conduit. The sensor is operably connected to the valve to cause the valve to be opened after the pet is sensed moving near the second end and to be closed after the pet is no longer being sensed near the second end. The water supply conduit and the second end thereof are configured to facilitate the flow of water therethrough at a flow rate which will allow the pet to drink the water without being frightened thereby.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif d'abreuvement automatique pour la fourniture d'eau de boisson à un animal domestique, tel un chien, à partir d'une source d'eau sous pression. Le dispositif d'abreuvement en question utilise une conduite d'alimentation en eau dont une première extrémité est dotée d'un appareil de robinetterie, la deuxième extrémité du conduit étant disposée en un point distant de l'appareil de robinetterie, et laquelle permet à l'eau d'alimentation de s'échapper. Un organe de robinetterie monté à l'intérieur du conduit d'alimentation en eau passe d'une position fermée à une position ouverte pour interdire ou permettre la circulation de l'eau. Le conduit d'alimentation en eau comporte un support de montage permettant de monter la deuxième extrémité du conduit dans une position sélectionnée en vue de permettre à l'animal de s'y abreuver. Un capteur est utilisé pour détecter la présence de l'animal au voisinage immédiat de la deuxième extrémité du conduit. Le capteur en question commande l'ouverture de l'appareil de robinetterie lorsqu'il détecte la présence de l'animal au voisinage immédiat de l'extrémité du conduit et, inversement, commande la fermeture de l'appareil lorsqu'aucune présence n'est détectée. La configuration donnée au conduit d'alimentation en eau et à la deuxième extrémité de celui-ci favorise une circulation et un débit d'eau qui sont de nature à ne pas effrayer l'animal.
