Abstract A device for an anti-skid device for vehicles comprises an arm (10) flexible essentially in one plane, fixed to the vehicle, and carries in its free end a rotatable pulley (16) which at its peripheri has chain pieces (17) attached. The arm comprises a number of positioning elements (20) fixed to a contracting means (21) and enclosing at least one resilient means (22) which in a neutral position gives the arm a curved shape. When a pulling means (15) is activated the positioning elements create a position stable stack, whereby the pulley (16) is brought down and pressed against one of the wheels on the vehicle. Fig. 2
