A B S T R A C T A fuse mate for facilitating the insertion of a cartridge-type fuse into a fuse holder, the fuse being constituted by a fuse wire disposed within a cylindrical casing whose ends are enclosed by terminal caps that are engageable by the spring clips of the holder. The fuse mate comprises a shield having a length at least equal to that of the fuse so as to protectively overlie the caps and the spring clips, a socket secured to the underside of the shield and adapted to clamp onto the casing of the fuse and a block secured to the upper side of the shield and forming a handle for the fuse mate.
