- 9 - Device for adjusting front lays ABSTRACT Especially with fast running printing machines torsional vibra- tions and bending vibrations of great amplitudes of the front lay shaft carrying the front lays may cause alignment errors and damage to the leading sheet edge. The invention counteracts these phenomenons by providing an additional supporting bearing for the front lay shaft which follows the changing positions of the ad- justably arranged front lay shaft and by locating the working point of a swivel device for swivelling the front lay shaft about its longitudinal axis in the immediate proximity to the additional supporting bearing. (Fig. 1)
