The invention concerns a protective helmet (1) consisting of a shell (2) designed to protect a user's head and comprising an inside lining (10) having a head band (5) with dimension adjustable by means of an adjusting device (6). The invention is characterised in that the adjusting device (6) comprises two grip members (7A, 7B) designed to be brought together or spaced apart manually by the user to vary the size of the head band (5).
