A B S T R A C T In previous devices for adjusting the positions of a plurality of elements arranged side-by-side, and more particularly for pairs of blades for cutting strip material lengthwise, a sensor associated with one of the elements reports the nominal value of the position of the element to a con- trol unit which compares it with the rated or correct value. If there is any difference, drive means cause the element to move. The present inven- tion provides for repositioning the individual elements taking into account the position of adjacent elements.
