ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The device comprises a divider having sectors through each of which an optical fiber from a cylindrical cable passes and that are extended by channels whose ends are aligned along an axis. Two slides having V-shaped edges extended by slits are moved translationally one towards the other in order to push the fibers into the bottoms of the channels. A movable comb in front of the divider enables to hold the fibers in a coplanar and parallel fashion and to comb the latter by a relative translation of the divider and the slides. The coplanar fibers between the comb and the divider are held thus by bonding or some analogous method and can be laid on the flat aligning holder of a device for connecting two optical fiber cables.
