The invention concerns a storing device comprising a device for loading and unloading (19), mobile from one housing (22) to the other, comprising a platform (17) for transporting an object, associated with means (18) for being moved from one level to another; pliers to grip an object, provided with two parallel pivoting branches (32) each comprising one end interlocked in rotation about a common horizontal axle; means for driving (33) the branches in rotation about said horizontal axle; means for spacing or bringing closer the respective free ends of the branches (32) which are each provided with respective means (37, 38) for rolling on the platform (17), the rotational driving means (33) and the horizontal axle being freely mobile along a vertical axle (31) integral with the platform (17), and moving vertically by gravity and by the rotational driving of the branches (32) about the horizontal axle.
