A glass window pane breaking device comprises a suction pad (53) for attaching the device to the window, in use, a striker rod (14) with a breaker tip (21), a trigger pawl (23) engagable with the striker rod and a remotely operable trigger (29) which is biased normally to prevent movement of the trigger pawl and thus to retain its engagement with the striker rod when this is held against the force of charged energy storage means (19) urging the breaker tip in a direction to break the window pane, in use. A switch (36) is also provided to 'arm' the device or place it in a 'safe' mode.

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant de casser un carreau de fenêtre et comprenant un pied à ventouse (53) permettant de fixer le dispositif sur la fenêtre, pendant l'utilisation, ainsi qu'une tige de percuteur(14) comprenant une pointe de rupteur (21), un cliquet de basculeur (23) venant en prise avec la tige de percuteur et un basculeur commandé à distance (29) qui est généralement sollicité de manière à empêcher le déplacement du cliquet du basculeur et par conséquent de manière à maintenir la prise avec la tige de percuteur quand elle est maintenue à l'encontre de la force de moyens de stockage d'énergie chargés (19) contraignant la pointe de rupteur dans un sens, aux fins de rupture du carreau de fenêtre, pendant l'utilisation. Un commutateur (36) permet également d''armer' le dispositf ou de le placer en mode 'sûr'.
