A device is disclosed for activating and deactivating magnetic electronic article surveillance (EAS) markers, and particularly those EAS markers that are associated with magnetically recorded media. In one embodiment, the device includes control circuitry comprising a coil, such as a solenoid-type coil, that provides a substantially uniform magnetic field that reliably activates and deactivates the marker, yet doesn't damage the magnetically-recorded media.

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'activer et de désactiver des marqueurs de surveillance électronique d'articles (EAS), et en particulier les marqueurs EAS associés à un support enregistré magnétiquement. Selon un mode de réalisation, ce dispositif comprend un circuit de commande doté d'une bobine, telle qu'une bobine de type solénoïde, fournissant un champ magnétique sensiblement uniforme qui active et désactive les marqueurs de manière fiable sans endommager le support enregistré magnétiquement.
