The invention relates to a device for coating metal bars (1), particularly steel strips, by hot dipping. At least some sections of the metal bar (1) are vertically guided through a container receiving the molten coating metal (2), said metal bar (1) being guided by at least one roller (4) which runs on bearings. In order to increase the service life of the roller bearings, the roller, or at least the axis (5) thereof, penetrates the side walls (6) of the container (3) and is mounted outside the container (3).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de revêtement de barres métalliques (1), en particulier d'une bande métallique, par immersion à chaud. Ce procédé consiste à faire passer une barre métallique (1), au moins par sections, verticalement à travers une cuve (3) contenant le métal de revêtement en fusion (2), cette barre métallique (1) étant guidée par au moins un rouleau (4) monté sur paliers. Selon l'invention, pour accroître la durée de vie des paliers de rouleau, le rouleau (4) ou au moins son arbre (5) traverse les parois latérales (6) de la cuve (3) et est monté à l'extérieur de ladite cuve (3).
