11-8-1978 1 PHN 8887 ABSTRACT: "Device for computer tomography" A device for computer tomography, comprising an X-ray source, a number of X-ray detectors and a signal processing network which includes a comparator for com- paring detector output signals with data stored in a memory and obtained during measurement of a calibration material. The comparator determines, by way of interpola- tion, thicknesses of calibration material whereto detector output signals correspond and provides computer input sig- nals which are a function of these thicknesses. By Means of these computer input signals, an image is calculated of the density distribution of an irradiated patient. This image is free from interference patterns caused by the fact that the detectors are not the same, by non-linearity of detectors or by hardening of radiation. A device of this kind is particularly suitable for medical X-ray diag- nosis.
