ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A terminal element for connecting insulated wires comprises a resilient V-shaped contact member having two sides each with a slot opening into one edge thereof, the slots having sharp edges and each com- municating with an entry opening and having a width narrower than the thickness of the wire conductor, the entry opening having a width greater than the respective slot. The slots are oriented so that when a wire is urged into the slot, the slot is at 45° to the wire axis and one side of the slot torques with respect to the other side to facilitate cutting of the insulation by the sharp edges to establish an electrical connection. The contact member is longi- tudinally mounted adjacent a like member to an electrically insulated terminal strip so that adjacent sides of the members are in confronting parallel relationship.
