A device for controlling flow is sealed by anannular seal. A blocking element can move in relation to a seat of a first half-body. The blocking element is rigidly connected to the other half-body by a rod. To control the valve, the half-bodies are moved relative to each other axially by elastically compressing the seal, which consists of a silicone sleeve. Useable, in particular in the food industry, to do away with seals for controlling the valve and to eliminate rooks in the flow path.
