ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for controlling the sealing of wrapping formed of thermoplastic material, particularly on machines that overwrap packages, for example, cigarette packages or the like, wherein, at all the speed levels of the wrapping machine, the time devoted to each sealing operation is kept constant by a plurality of mechanical controls, the number of which correspond to the number of speed levels of the machine, the controls oper- ating individually at any one of the speed levels. The device includes sealing contrivances that operate at one or more stations provided along the wrapping line of the machine, such sealing contrivances being connected to operating means that terminate at one single operating means for all speed levels. Selectors are connected to means sensitive to variations in the speed level and work in conjunction with the operating means positioned at a point where the operating means applicable to the operating speed level of the machine are located, so that the time required for each sealing operation remains constant.
