An engine control unit (24) is supplied with information on whether or not a cooling fan (12a) is operating, information on the temperature of the cooling water discharged from an engine (1), and other parameters representing the state of the operation of the engine. In the engine control unit (24), it is programmed in particular so as to read the extent of temperature drop of the cooling water caused in a radiator (2) out of a table-type map on the basis of the information representing the operating state of the cooling fan, thereby predicting the change of the coolant temperature and achieving the temperature control. It has become possible to operate the engine at high temperatures but not high enough to invite overheating, thereby improving the fuel consupmption and minimizing the generation of harmful exhaust gas.
L'invention porte sur une unité de régulation (24) de moteur à laquelle sont envoyées des informations permettant de savoir si un ventilateur (12a) fonctionne ou non, des informations sur la température de l'eau de refroidissement provenant du moteur (1) et d'autres paramètres indiquant l'état de fonctionnement du moteur. L'unité de régulation (24) du moteur est programmée notamment de manière à relever l'étendue de la chute de température de l'eau de refroidissement du radiateur (2), dans un plan mémoire de type table, à partir des informations indiquant l'état de fonctionnement du ventilateur, ce qui permet de prévoir la variation de température de refroidissement et de procéder à sa régulation. Il est alors possible de faire tourner le moteur à des températures élevées, mais pas trop élevées pour solliciter la surchauffe, ce qui permet d'améliorer la consommation de carburant et de réduire les émissions de gaz d'échappement nocifs.
