In order to control relative rotation between two elements (10, 12), such as an unfolding mechanical structure flaps, on a space vehicle, a bistable shape-memory alloy torque shaft, heated over its whole length by heaters bonded on the bar and maintained by banding rings, is used. A stop (22) limits the pivoting to the predetermined pivoting angle to be controlled. The torque shaft (16) excess pivoting is applied to a mechanical fuse (18), inserted between the bar and one of the elements (12).
Pour commander une rotation relative entre deux éléments (10, 12), tels que des volets d'une structure mécanique déployable, sur un véhicule spatial, on utilise une barre de torsion (16) en alliage bistable à mémoire de forme, chauffée sur toute sa longueur par des réchauffeurs collés sur la barre et maintenus par des bagues de cerclage . Une butée (22) limite le pivotement à l'angle de pivotement prédéterminé à commander. Le pivotement excédentaire de la barre de torsion (16) est appliqué à un fusible mécanique (18), interposé entre la barre et l'un (12) des éléments.
