ABSTRACT A device for coupling single mode optical fibres, in which light radiation between the fibres is transmitted by a collimated optical beam, by means of lens positioned relative to the fibre ends. Optimal coupling is obtained by translating a third lens and by rotating a small glass plate both placed between the collimating lenses. The third lens and the plate can be combined by increasing the thickness of the lens.
