PMF54 ABSTRACT The invention concerns a device for cutting and/or slitting travelling web or sheet-like board matter (B). Slitting is achieved by two rotary circular knifes (1, 1') situated on either side of the web (B) and of which the two peripheral cutting edges (1a, 1'a) are in contact with one another. One knife (1) is fitted by means of a supporting ring (3) and a sliding sleeve (2) on a shaft (10) arranged crosswise, ie perpendicularly to the travelling direction of the web (B). Between the supporting ring (3) and the sleeve (2) is intercalated an elastic circular flat spring (4) destined to hold the two knives (1, 1'), when in operating position, in contact with one another with the elastic pretension. Such a device is generally used in a slitting and creasing machine producing box-type package.
