ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device is disclosed for cutting off the front edge of a sheet along a cutting line defined by means of webs only, which sheet is held, at the front edge, by the grippers of a feed mechanism. The device consists of upper and lower cutting tools arranged on each side of the cutting line and adapted to move in relation to each other. The tool arranged above the upper surface of the sheet, forms, with a back-up member arranged below the under surface of the sheet, a pair of clamping jaws for the sheet, the pair of jaws being adapted to move, during the cutting operation, with the sheet clamped therebetween, in relation to the other cutting tool.
