The invention concerns a device for damping the yawing motions between a motor road vehicle and its trailer consisting of a damping curvilinear track (4) whereon acts a friction device (17) for example a pneumatic device mounted at the end of the towbar (2), the track (4) being for example articulated to a fixed part at the rear of the truck or sufficiently flexible to absorb roll and pitch. The friction device (13) consists of friction pads (21, 22) pressed against the track (4) by an actuator (27), for example a pneumatic actuator. The intensity of the traction force generated varies according to the trailer load and/or the vehicle speed to adjust automatically the damping of the yawing motions. Said adjustment is produced by the fact that the actuator (27) is automatically controlled by the pressure of the suspensions and/or the speed of the vehicle. The invention is of particular interest to manufacturers of trailers and hitches.

Le dispositif d'amortissement des mouvements de lacet entre un véhicule routier à moteur et sa remorque se compose d'une piste (4) curviligne d'amortissement sur laquelle agit un dispositif de friction (17) par exemple pneumatique monté à l'extré- mité du timon (2), la piste (4) étant reliée par exemple de façon articulée à une partie fixe de l'arrière du camion ou suffisamment flexible pour absorber le roulis et le tangage. Le dispositif de friction (13) est constitué de patins de frottement (21, 22) pressés contre la piste (4) par un actionneur (27) par exemple pneumatique. L'intensité de la force de rapprochement générée varie en fonction du chargement de la remorque et/ou de la vitesse du véhicule pour adapter automatiquement l'amortissement des mouvements de lacet. Cette adaptation est réalisée par un asservissement de l'actionneur (27) à la pression des suspensions et/ou à la vitesse du véhicule. Cette invention intéresse les constructeurs de remorques et d'attelages.
