The invention refers to a device for detecting and processing electric signals, having a device housing (1) which is divided into drawer chambers (2) and (4) which are open toward the front, in which connection within one drawer chamber (2) there can be arranged a controller drawer (3) which contains an electronic controller unit and in a second drawer chamber (4) there can be arranged a power-pack drawer (5) which contains a power pack. The controller unit and the power pack can be connected by means of lines, both to each other and to connection contacts (31) for external connections. In further drawer chambers (2) and (4) which are open towards the front of the device housing (1) there can be arranged a controller drawer (3) having a second electronic controller unit which is identical to the first controller unit and a power-pack drawer (5) having a second power pack which is identical to the first power pack, which can be connected by lines both to each other and to connection contacts (31) for external connections. The first controller unit can be supplied with power by the first power pack and the second controller units supplied with power by the second power pack. Input signals can be fed to both controller units simultaneously in parallel from the outside via the lines and can be processed synchronously by both controller units. Depending on the processing of this signal and the status of the controller units, output signals can be produced exclusively by one of the controller units.
