ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a protection device for detecting at least one faulty phase in an electrical network. The device comprises,for each phase of the network, a band exclusion filter for filter- ing away signals which have the same frequerlcy as a nominal frequency of the network, an amplifier, a rectifier and a peak value determining unit. In addition, the signals in the respective phases are- fed to a function element which delivers a signal to a level and comparison device of each phase, where this signal is compared with the signals in the respective phases.
