A DEVICE FOR DETECTING THE OPTIMUM ANODE LOAD IMPEDANCE OF A TUBE TRANSMITTER IN A HIGH FREQUENCY TRANSMISSION CHAIN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device is provided for detecting the optimum anode load impedance of a tube transmitter, comprising means for phase shifting by k? (with k being a positive or negative uneven integer) the phase difference existing between the input and output voltages of the tube, means for multiply- ing together the two voltages thus processed and means for calculating the mean value of the product thus obtained, cancelling out this mean value corresponding to the passing of the anode load impedance through a purely resistive value, which allows the phase matching detection to be made independent of the modulus matching detection.
