A-791 31.01.1992 - 9 - mo.a791 A B S T R A C T The invention relates to a device for determining the fluid amount or the thickness of a fluid film, representing the quantity measured, particularly the thickness of the dampening-medium film provided on the surface of a printing forme of a printing machine, particularly of an offset printing machine. Said device preferably comprises an emitter operating in the microwave range the emitting frequency range of which impinges on said fluid (7) and has such a low power that the energy absorbed by said fluid (7) measurably influences the power input of the emitter (9), the power input varying depending on the respective fluid amount or the thickness of the fluid film being used as a scale for the quantity measured.
