(Translation) 01559-99 Device for distance measurement Abstract: Damping of a coil (L1) can be influenced by an object (1) such that the radio-frequency voltage at the coil (L1) depends on the distance (a) of the object (1) from the coil (L1). A constant direct current is superimposed on the radio-frequency current by the coil, whereby the d.c. voltage drop across the coil (L1) is influenced by temperature which affects the d.c. damping resistance of the coil (L1). The radio-frequency excitation (5, 6) of the coil (L1) is controlled by the d.c. voltage drop in order to compensate the influence of temperature on the radio- frequency voltage so that the radio-frequency voltage depends only on the distance (a). The radio-frequency voltage, which is non- linearly related to the distance (a), is linearized in relation to the distance (a) in a non-linear member (15) with a semi-conductor element. The influence of temperature on the linearization is thereby compensated by means of a second semi-conductor element.
