A device for stimulating muscles and nerves defining and surrounding an intravaginal cavity of an individual and/or sensing tonus and/or electrical activity of muscles defining and surrounding an intravaginal cavity (10) is provided. The device (10) includes (a) a body (12) having memory properties such that when the body (12) is contracted and positioned within an intravaginal cavity of the individual the body (12) self expands to conform to a contour of the intravaginal cavity; and (b) at least one pair of electrodes (14) being attached to an exterior surface of the body (10) such that when the body (10) is positioned within the intravaginal cavity, each electrode (14) of the at least one pair of electrodes (14) is biased against a wall of the intravaginal cavity. Thus they maintain electrical contact with the wall.
Cette invention a trait à un dispositif permettant de stimuler électriquement des muscles et/ou des nerfs délimitant la cavité vaginale et l'enveloppant et/ou de détecter le tonus et/ou l'activité électrique des mêmes muscles. Ce dispositif comporte, (a), un corps à mémoire de forme qui, placé dans la cavité vaginale et contracté, se dilate de lui-même jusqu'à épouser les contours de la cavité et, (b), au moins deux électrodes rattachées à la face externe du corps de sorte que, lorsque ce corps est inséré dans la cavité vaginale, chaque électrode de la paire d'électrodes, une paire à tout le moins, porte contre la paroi vaginale, ce qui assure le contact électrique.
