ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A female socket connector electrically connected to fetal and maternal electrodes. The female connector shrouds and electrically connects with a male plug connector. The electrodes may be electrically connected with a remote monitor- ing device via the male and female connectors. The male connector may extend within an opening in the leg plate or project from the leg plate and may be removable from the leg plate.
