In geophysical devices that continuously transmit and receive electromagnetic fields in order to explore for features such as ore-bodies, it is customary to incorporate transmitting- and receiving-coils in a coaxial or coplanar arrangement. Such arrangements have gained standard use due to their symmetry, despite interference arising from electromagnetic coupling between the coils. In this invention, novel arrangements of coils are incorporated that have the mid-planar symmetry of coaxial and coplanar arrangements, but have no transmitter-receiver coupling.
