A device for expanding a pipe (70) comprises a probe (2) insertable into the pipe (70) and fitted with an elastic expanding sleeve (4) to at least part of the inner surface of which can be applied a pressure medium. According to the invention, the expanding sleeve (4) is fitted with a supporting ring (50) at its outer periphery which is supported on a shoulder (51a, b) of the probe (2) surrounding the expanding sleeve (4) and consists of at least two partial segments (80) movable in relation to each other. This arrangement ensures that the supporting ring (50) can reversibly follow the changes in diameter occurring during the expansion of the expanding sleeve (4), thus preventing the expending sleeve (4) from being squeezed into a gap(s) between the pipe (70) and the probe (2).
L'invention concerne un dispositif servant à élargir un tuyau (70), qui comprend une sonde (2) insérable dans ledit tuyau (70) et contenant un manchon d'élargissement (4) élastique dont au moins une zone partielle de la surface intérieure est sollicitée par un fluide sous pression. Selon l'invention, le manchon d'élargissement (4) est muni, au niveau de sa périphérie extérieure, d'une bague d'appui reposant sur un des épaulements (51a, b) de la sonde (2), qui entourent le manchon d'élargissement (4), et composée d'au moins deux segments partiels (80) déplaçables l'un par rapport à l'autre. Grâce à cet agencement, la bague d'appui (50) peut suivre de manière réversible les variations de diamètre qui interviennent lors de l'élargissement du manchon d'élargissement (4), de sorte que tout risque d'écrasement du manchon d'élargissement (4) dans une fente (s) située entre le tuyau (70) et la sonde (2) est évité.
