PHN 8669 ABSTRACT: A device for extracting moisture from a space, which device comprises a moisture-absorbing element which contains a hydroscopic liquid and which extends from said space, where moisture is absorbed in the hydroscopic liquid, through a wall which bounds the space, to a second space where the moisture evaporated from the hydroscopic liquid, whilst the ends of the element are brought into liquid-transmitting contact with each other in such a way that the liquid is circulated in a closed circuit. Owing to differences in specific gravity a natural circulation is obtained in the circuit. The device may inter alia be used in refrigerators and air conditioners.
