Abstract of the Disclosure Device and process for automatic, process-controlled feeding of electrolytic cells for producing aluminum. Besides a low degree of wear on the feed pipes, a fast and accurate feeding of fluxing agents to a particular cell is assured; in particular the device comprises one or more electroytic cells, a storage bunder for such cells positioned thereabove, and a pressure chamber: a feed system transports alumina from the chamber by means of compressed air; the feed system includes an elongated material feed pipe having a plurality of com- pressed air inlet means over its entire length; means is associated with the air inlet means for equalizing the amount of compressed air entering the pipe over its length; a sensing means in the bunker senses the level of alumina.
